Blake
When Blake was diagnosed with a brain tumor at seven years old, it felt like we’d been dropped in the middle of the ocean, at night, without a raft. We didn’t know anyone else with such a diagnosis and felt very alone in our journey. A friend whose son is a leukemia survivor reached out and asked if we’d heard of MaxLove Project. She said the founders’ son, Max, had a brain tumor as well and that she could connect us. At that moment it was like the sun came up over the ocean and MaxLove Project was waiting with a raft and supplies.
Through MaxLove we’ve been introduced to lifelong friends, a community that understands, and the research and resources to help us not just survive but thrive through Blake’s diagnosis. To go from this helpless feeling where we were alone and drowning in the ocean to sitting in the captain’s seat is huge. We truly owe that empowering feeling to MaxLove Project. What they’ve done for our family is priceless.
Now, three years later, Blake is unfortunately facing round two with his brain tumor and is just a few weeks in to a chemotherapy treatment protocol that will continue for more than a year. We have quite the journey ahead of us and need Maxlove Project now more than ever. MaxLove Project needs you now more than ever, too. Thank you for your support. It means the world to us! — Michelle, Blake’s momma
