Fundraising for “Parents Rising” Emotional Health Programs

On a sunny July day in 2018, standing in my kitchen, I head the words: “There was a finding on the MRI.” And then our world turned dark. Our 5 year-old son, Ori, was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. What followed were surgeries, feeding tubes, blood draws, speech therapy, occupational therapy, constant MRI’s, and years of chemotherapy infusions.

During the first year after Ori’s diagnosis, a friend introduced me to Audra and Justin Wilford, of MaxLove Project. From the darkest moments of our lives, MaxLove Project brought their light, held us, and helped my family go from merely surviving each day, to thriving each day. This is our story.

Upon diagnosis, a medical treatment protocol is not enough. The support and resources that MaxLove Project provides need to become STANDARD OF CARE in our medical system, so that patients and their families can beat the odds and thrive in life.

Meet the Team

Sophy Singer

Meet Sophy, a dedicated mother, loving wife, and inspiring entrepreneur who has overcome some of life's toughest challenges. For nearly 12 years, she has been happily married to her husband and business partner, Michael, and is a proud mother of 10-year-old twins, Sasha and Ori.

However, the road has not always been smooth for Sophy and her family. When Ori was just five years old, he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor located inside his brain stem. This news brought a wave of hardship and pain for the family, and they embarked on a grueling 14-month journey of weekly chemotherapy, multiple surgeries, and another year of chemo after a brief respite. Despite these challenges, Ori has remained stable for a year and a half and is being closely monitored with regular MRI scans. His 5-year survival milestone is expected in July 2023.

Throughout Ori's treatments, Sophy's family worked with the MaxLove Project, which introduced them to keto to optimize the results of Ori's second round of treatments. Two years later, Sophy crossed paths with MaxLove Project once again when Ori was stable. However, the emotional and mental impact of Ori's diagnosis, treatments, and lifelong cancer journey left Sophy feeling anxious and defeated each day. Thanks to the emotional health coaching and Parents Rising mental health program at MaxLove Project, Sophy and her family were able to transition from surviving to thriving.

Today, Sophy is the proud owner of a boutique matchmaking agency called SophyLove. Through her work, she helps her clients find love and build meaningful relationships. Despite facing various challenges, Sophy continues to inspire others with her resilience, kindness, and unwavering dedication to helping others find love and happiness.
